Having spent the last 20 years in corporate environments, I decided to follow my passion using data and technology to solve problems and create value and doing this in a sustainable way. Having built up a network of like minded partners, bringing together experience from different industry verticals as well as expertise in agile, lean, design, development and commercial strategy. For the last 23 years I’ve been lucky to have a front row seat of a technology revolution that has the changed the way we live. My career began in 2001 as a bioinformatician looking for mutations in the newly sequenced Human Genome data. Then during my time at AstraZeneca I got to work with some of the most advanced technologies of its time to analyse mRNA profiles and map them to disease characteristics. Later on in my career I was leading NHS Digitals’ National Diabetes Audit, where I got analyse the worlds largest patient level dataset. I would constantly think about the intelligence that could be generated, and the impact this could have on patients lives and society when all the datasets I had worked with were linked and analysed.
In 2016 at General Electric Healthcare I was the Chief Product Owner for their AI powered Command Centre Apps, The app design was informed using an innovative ‘problem back’ approach, that was like nothing I’ve seen before and probably the best approach I've used to develop great products that were easy to use and effective in driving the desired changes in behaviour and business outcomes.
At Hitachi, I worked closely with there R&D team thinking deeply about the technology in 10 years and it’s impact on society. As well as this I got access to some of the most advanced technologies in development. It was here I galvanised my views on the future of applied technology so I focussed on developing corporate relationships and alliances, joint GTM, commercial strategies and originated an idea for an innovation centre for industry, academia and communities to collaborate and co-create the foundational layer of technologies that will permeate our every day lives and change the business landscapes for health, life sciences, manufacturing, and energy.
The narrative arc throughout my career has been to operate at the intersection of data, technology, design and innovation to deliver customer outcomes. I have now turned my passion into a company "ONKO Consulting" to guide organisations through the fourth industrial revolution.
